Consignment posting number
The standard format of a posting number (e.g. DR1234567890C) includes:
- Prefix, i.e. code of service (normally two letters, e.g. DR - Parcel Delivery To Hand);
- Code of the consignment, i.e. 9 or 10 digits; and
- Suffix, i.e. the type of sender’s code (e.g. C) or the ISO code of the country of origin (e.g. GB for Great Britain and Northern Ireland).
Consignments posted abroad may come with a different format of code, specific to the country of origin.
You can use upper- or lowercase letters to enter a posting number containing letters. You can find the consignment posting number in the posting form, in the SMS or email alert or in the Notice dropped into your letter box.
