Countless kitschy sunsets, monuments taken years ago but still sold as present-day images, or tasteless pictures of half-naked men and women. Nothing that you would like to send to your friends from a holiday. But thanks to us, you can avoid the notorious old-fashioned pictures and send your own images to the letter boxes of your friends. The only thing you need is a smartphone with the downloaded application Online Postcard.

With the advent of the Internet and smartphones their users began to send their own photos through e-mail or MMS instead of sending picture cards from holidays by mail. For a while, it seemed that the traditional paper cards with a picture on one side and a text written on the other side have gone and would soon be seen in museum expositions rather than in letter boxes. But now a growing number of people are starting to use the Czech Post’s Online Postcard service that combines a modern mobile technology with the traditional method of sending picture cards. The Online Postcard application has already been downloaded by almost 20 thousand people, and we have registered the same number of printed cards travelling to the addressee.

How does it work?

Just use the application to add a text and address of the recipient to a picture taken with your smartphone. The addressee will receive the picture as a picture card. The application offers four default colours, letter fonts and sizes to write the text. You can define the front and back side of the picture card and its size. You need not worry that your card will take too much time to travel from more remote or exotic destinations; it will be printed and distributed the working day next to the delivery of payment for the card. The time limit for its delivery is the same as for a classic picture card. The same picture card can even be sent up to 10 addresses at the same time.

The price of a picture card sent to any address in the Czech Republic is CZK 23 (for users of Czech Post’s Customer Card) for the standard A6 or long DL size. A picture card sized A5 costs two crowns more, i.e. CZK 25. The price can be paid by payment card, bank order over the integrated payment portal, or by voucher. You can also send picture cards from abroad to the Czech Republic for the same price but with a shorter delivery time than paper cards.
