Jan Mareš elected as the new chairman of Czech Post’s Supervisory Board

At today’s ordinary meeting, members of Czech Post’s Supervisory Board elected Mr. Jan Mareš, an existing member of the Supervisory Board and corporate finance expert, as their new chairman.

Jan Mareš, who also acts as a Czech Arbitration Court pannelist, has been on the Supervisory Board since 28 April 2014. Until the election, the board was chaired by Jan Sixta, a deputy chairman of the Supervisory Board and the First Deputy Interior Minister. The present ten members unanimously elected Mr. Mareš for the post.

The new chairman of the Supervisory Board Jan Mareš is a finance and corporate finance expert. He obtained his work experience in posts at leading Czech and global financial institutions. He spent almost a third of his professional career working abroad in posts, such as the Executive Director responsible for capital markets in Central Europe at the global investment bank Morgan Stanley. In the Czech Republic he worked, e.g. as a senior manager within the Česká spořitelna group.
