The Czech Post has introduced a redesigned website

Easy navigation, improved user friendliness, full text search tool for searching through the whole site, RSS feeds, new Client Zone for users of online services, post office finder with more details on each post office. These are some of the benefits awaiting visitors to the Czech Post's new website www.ceskaposta.cz. The site complies with international standards including those for handicapped access.

"The Czech Post web presentation is to offer the existing as well as prospective customers a clear view of the available products and services, details of branches and track&trace services," said Václav Beníšek, Czech Post's web designer.

The site is coming completely redesigned. Clear arrangement, serious and timeless presentation and use as easy as possible were among the main challenges. Media Faktory, winner of the contract for graphic design, therefore gave the pages an air-light, ample and up-to-date image. "According to the results obtained from test users the new site is a real success. The first users described it as nice and attractive. At the same time it provides an adequate presentation for a major state institution. And what is essential is that the chosen combination of navigation methods allows easy and fast access to the information published on the site," said Leoš Špachta, Media Faktory's Marketing & Sales Director.

Macron Software, who won the contract for technical solution, delivered a special publication system. According to Tomáš Novák, Director of Macron Software's WebToDate Division, "Despite the large number of web presentations built by our company for the state administration the Czech Post project was a real challenge to our publication system mainly in that we had to integrate the numerous customer applications into it and employ a complicated infrastructure. We are proud to say that WebToDate has met the requirements with ease."

Launched in 2005, the original website told the level of technical and other conditions at that time. The present version makes use of state-of-the-art information and communication technologies bringing in new tools and boosting user friendliness.

The new design is not the end of the process. Further developments are expected based on comments and demands from visitors and the extending portfolio of services. Coming soon are new calculators and further online services in the Client Zone.
