Stamp with Myšpulín the Cat to go on sale - a good news not only for the Čtyřlístek comics fans

The books of self-adhesive stamps which first appeared at post offices this April attracted an unexpected amount of interest. As time has shown, the helpful innovation is important for customers, although the motif The Myšpulín stamp taken from the children comics Čtyřlístek certainly helped boosting the popularity as well. Self-adhesive stamps with Fifinka are running low, in spite of their ongoing reprints. That's why the Czech Post decided to dedicate a special stamp to each of the popular four friends of the series. Starting from tomorrow, you may choose between stamps with the only lady in the Čtyřlístek company - and the newly appearing stamp with Myšpulín the Cat.

The Myšpulín stamp is identified with the letter A. As such it can be used only for letter mail in domestic service. You can buy or order only entire books of ten stamps. The price is CZK 100 per book.

The stamp, the first-day cover (FDC) and the motif on the commemorative handstamp were all designed by Jaroslav Němeček.

Postcard with prepaid stamp, intended mainly for collectors, will also be available at any post office starting from tomorrow.

Will Myšpulín equal the success of Fifinka?

Going on sale April 28th, 2010, the Fifinka stamp quickly became a blockbuster, recording more than three millions of sold stamps featuring the missy dog by now.
