Extended Online Postcard functions

The functions provided by Czech Post in relation to its Online Postcard services have been extended. Starting from mid-June 2016, clients can use the existing mobile application for iOS and Android devices or the new website www.pohledniceonline.cz to send their pictures for delivery as classic paper postcards.

The Online Postcard mobile application went live in June 2015. Since then, it has been downloaded by more than 32 thousand clients who have sent almost 140 thousand postcards.

Despite the success and popularity of the Online Postcard mobile application, there is still a numerous group of clients who are not comfortable about buying online and prefer the use of a computer with stored photographs to prepare a postcard. Other clients use a mobile phone with an operating system other than iOS or Android.

In order to address these clients, we have prepared a new microsite, www.pohledniceonline.cz, for this year’s summer season. It provides basic information about the service and the possibility to design and send a postcard directly from the site without the need to install any mobile application. The new, fully-responsive site with a moder design has been available to our clients since mid-June 2016. It can be comfortably used also on tablets and mobile phones.

New functions:

  • designing and sending postcards directly from the website
  • combining up to 4 photographs in one postcard
  • sending a postcard to a group of up to 100 addressees
  • working with addresses including their import and export
  • discount vouchers.

Each postcard costs CZK 23 to 44 depending on its size and destination. Pictures can be sent online from any place in the world. Czech Post will print them in the Czech Republic on high-quality postcard paper and deliver them to any domestic or foreign destination. Fast delivery of pictures received from abroad to domestic addressees is among the welcomed benefits of this service. Once sent online from a mobile phone or computer, the picture is printed in the Czech Republic the next working day after payment and immediately handed over for delivery to the addressee(s).

The summertime marketing campaign for presentation of the extended Online Postcard functions includes large format advertising displayed in the corridor connecting the metro lines A and C in the Muzeum station in Prague and the non-traditional advertising lining the exit escalators in the Můstek station leading to Wenceslas Square.

Czech Post’s Facebook pages offer the possibility to compete for vouchers for sending postcards free of charge. Visitors to the zoos in Dvůr Králové, Ostrava, Olomouc, Ústí nad Labem, Děčín, Liberec and Brno can use special interactive photo stands.

Online Postcard advertising can also be found in Václav Havel Airport Prague and the Czech Airlines’ on-board magazine. The additional campaign programme includes the “Summer with Online Postcard” competition featured online at www.pohledniceonline.cz.
