An overflowing letter box is a good signal to thieves

Are you leaving for a holiday abroad or locally and have no one to clean up your letter box? This will be a good signal to thieves that the homeowner is not at home. Why not protect your home from thieves by using our service "Change of Place of Delivery" (i.e. "Redirection").

How to order Redirection

Before you go on holiday, visit any post office and complete a Redirection Application Form. Your item can be redirected to any address within the Czech Republic for a maximum period of six months. After the expiry of the six months you can apply again for this service. Redirection is available with all types of mail except those marked by the sender as "Do Not Redirect" and Mail Order Parcels.

The service price is CZK 120/month.

Alternatively, ask for Longer Collection Time

Redirection is good only for those who will stay in the Czech Republic. If you go on holiday abroad and have no neighbours or friends who would collect your mail, why not apply for our Longer Collection Time (up to one month) service. The service is free of charge for Czech Post's customers. You can order it:

  • by phone - call the number of your deposit post office to arrange for the required extension, or
  • via the eFiling service available on Czech Post's website - file a Longer Collection Time Application Form, or
  • in person - visit any post office and complete an Addressee's Instructions Form, or
  • by proxy - the proxy will have to visit any post office and complete an Addressee's Instructions Form on your behalf.

The service is not available with:

  • mail posted with the additional service "Deposit for 3 days only" or "Deposit for 10 days only" or marked as "Do Not Deposit" or "No Longer Collection Time",
  • money orders, Commercial Parcels, Mail Order Parcels.
