Czech Post launches a system to facilitate the access of companies to public contracts i-zakázky, (i-Contracts), automatically searches for and monitors public contracts worth as little as CZK 20,000. 

For a monthly fee of CZK 199, each entrepreneur or self-employed person will gain access to the latest tenders classified by the field of business, region or other criteria. „Our new information project sheds light on a complex system of awarding public contracts. We help entrepreneurs and self-employed people get exactly that information which they can use for their benefit,“ said Tomáš Ječný, Czech Post’s Chief Executive for ICT. 

The i-Contracts system has been developed by Czech Post for over a year and its official launch is to take place on 15 April. IT specialists from Corpus Solutions, a company which stands behind e.g. the server justice.cz, were also invited for collaboration. 

„The present system gathers information from thousands of different sources - state institutions, government ministries, regional, municipal governments, but also requests for bid placed by local companies. More than 120 fields of business are monitored. Information on huge tenders are a matter of course, but we are equally able to find thousands of small projects. Their average value is eighty thousand crowns; as such, this is a service intended mainly for small and medium enterprises. Our aim is to provide access to public contracts to everyone,“ added Tomáš Ječný. 

Public contracts are the opening part of Czech Post’s information project. It should soon be gradually extended to cover further information services to which both entrepreneurs and general public are fully entitled. Both may already be looking forward to a legal service which will make navigation through old and latest legislation easier.
