The end of November 1939 and 1989, two important milestones in the Czech history, are the artwork of the commemorative stamp, designed by Ivan Štrouf and engraved by Jaroslav Tvrdoň. The year 1939 was the beginning of the occupation by Nazi Germany, World War II and the period of suffering. The year 1989, on the other hand, marked the end of the long era of the Communist regime.
