The International Bureau of the Universal Postal Union again organizes the annual International Letter-Writing Competition for Children up to 15 years of age.

The theme for the already 1st annual competition is: „Write a letter to an athlete or sports star you admire and tell him or her what the Olympic Games mean to you".

The theme marks the 2012 Summer Olympic Games held on 27 July to 12 August in London.

A board of Czech Post's representatives will choose a winner from all the letters they will have received and send it to Bern, Switzerland for the international round. The event run by the Universal Postal Union, is attended by more than 60 countries every year. The Czech Post, acting under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, has been involved in the running of the national round of the competition since 1995.
