Winner of the 2010 UPU Letter-Writing Competition to be chosen in Bern

The theme of the 39th UPU Letter-Writing Competition, organised by the Czech Post in cooperation with the Universal Postal Union for children up to 15 years, was Write a letter to someone to explain why it is important to talk about AIDS and to protect yourself against the disease.

The Czech Post also invited children aged up to 12 to take part in the national letter-writing competition on the theme Write a letter to your by 10 years older self.

The Czech Post thanks not only all children participating in either competition, but also their supporters, particularly their teachers and headmasters.

Winners of the national round of the 39th UPU Letter-Writing Competition for children up to 15

The winners will be informed by letter and will receive the prize and a felicitation from the jury.

The winning letter of the national competition (the Czech original and its French translation) was sent to the headquarters of the Universal Postal Union's International Bureau in Bern for the final decision on the international competition winning letters. The three winners will be awarded a gold, silver and bronze medal and a stamp album. The next five authors will get a special award. All awardees will also receive a certificate.

The winners of the world round of the competition will be announced by the Universal Postal Union's press release and on the Czech Post website.
