Improved efficiency of parcel delivery in regional capitals

Czech Post as the leader of transportation of parcels from online shops has continued to improve its services. Starting from September 2016, an optimised method of delivering parcels in the so-called time zones has been introduced in order to meet the needs of its customers regarding the preferred delivery time.

The time zone from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. is intended mainly for deliveries to businesses while the time zone from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. is used to serve households. Customers who have used the Online Change of Delivery Instructions application can have their parcel delivered in the evening between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. Evening delivery is available for a fee but will be provided until the end of this year for the special price of one CZK.

Senders of parcels destined to regional capitals also have the possibility to select a preferred delivery time. They only have to specify the time zone in which their Parcel Delivery to Hand is to be delivered when they send it from any post office. If the selected time zone does not suit the addressee, the addressee can use the Online Change of Delivery Instructions application to change it.

An information campaign has been prepared by Czech Post in regional capitals is to present the new method of parcel delivery and the possibility to use the Online Change of Delivery Instructions application to change the time and place of delivery. Advertisements will be placed in newspapers, online, on billboards, public transport and, as a matter of course, in post offices.

This new service is expected to increase the delivery success rate and improve the efficiency of use of transportation capacity.
